I have never driven a car before in my life before coming to BDS. I am now a confident fully licensed driver. I passed the driving test in one try. The instructors are cordial, explain things thoroughly and in a detailed fashion, and most important- patient! Scheduling is flexible and accommodating, which was very important for me. With the 12 class package I went from NEVER having driven before to a licensed and confident driver. Then after the highway class I feel comfortable being even in the most treacherous of highway situations. I will be referring my friends here. Thank you Brooklyn Driving School!!!
This school is absolutely the place you want to go to if you want to learn how to drive. My instructor was Luigi, he was extremely patient and laid back. He made me feel comfortable and safe and it was just the perfect environment to learn how to drive. Everyone there was extremely helpful, and they care for their students. I highly recommend this school. After 6 lessons I successfully passed my driving test! Thank you Luigi!

I had 10 driving lessons and passed at Red Hook on the first try. Luigi was an excellent instructor, very patient. He made me feel calm and prepared for the test. Front desk and phone staff were always great as well.
I had to go out my way to leave a nice review. Lucy is an amazing instructor. Ask for Lucy!! No matter how tired she is, she goes above and beyond to serve her clients. She always made it fun during our classes and she has these fun analogies that s easy to remember. She s amazing and she deserves a lot of respect. Friendly staff.
I have to say the staff here is extremely professional and kind. Lucy was my driving instructor and she was very patient and knowledgeable. She made me feel confident behind the wheel. The 5 hour class with Luigi was informative and flew by rather quickly. This is a great school! So if you re looking for a staff who is knowledgeable and patient in teaching you on how to drive this is the school!
I had a great time at this auto school. Luigi was my instructor and he was very calm and helpful. he made sure that we were safe and had a good time driving, he was also able to answer all my questions clearly and in a way that was easy to understand. I would recommend this school to anyone that need driving lessons.
I took a refresher lesson on driving a stick shift back in July (2023). Hadnt driven one in over 20 years. And even then, I drove it badly. Phil, explained the process clearly. If a friend or relative has taught you how to drive stick, chances are, they probably taught you incorrectly (like me). They missed the subtlety in lifting the clutch and hitting the gas. I took one lesson and the next week I was driving (stalling every once in awhile as I got my sea legs) confidently on the Italian hills, narrow curves and steep downhills. I highly recommend Brooklyn Driving School if you want to learn (or re-learn) driving a stick shift. And they likely do the other stuff correctly too.

My instructor, Lucy, was very knowledgeable and always kind, patient, and helpful. She always found an easy way to explain things and helped me build confidence behind the wheel. O ne of the best driving schools. I also went to Brooklyn driving school 38 years ago and I still have fond good memories of those days. Now my daughter also goes to the same driving school, and she is happy with the instructor and others staff at the Brooklyn driving school.
